the return will also use this route. we will have marshals at the top of oldbury wells to ensure that walkers funnel safely across the footbridge and we ask for patience as we get experience of this new approach. an additional safeguard will be the introduction of two motor cycle riders who will lead the walkers and go ahead to ensure oncoming traffic is aware of approaching walkers. other motor cycle riders will also be present to spot “runners” and penalise them if necessary. for the first time walkers will have small bottles of water offered at each water station, following generous sponsorship by local water company, wenlock spring. in the past volunteers had spent considerable time cleaning and filling water barrels before the event. this way walkers can get safe, bottled water anywhere along the route. used bottles will be collected and recycled, just as previous plastic cups had been. there are also a number of changes to the administration of the walk aimed at making things easier for walkers and volunteers. 1/ walkers will receive their walk numbers on walk day, which will save a huge amount on postage as well as eliminating considerable work for the organisers. 2/ the adding up of sponsorship on the day will no longer take place, reducing unnecessary administration. walkers will simply be asked how much they have raised to allow a total amount to be generated. 3/ “non returnable” trophies will be awarded on the day for six categories, avoiding the need for a separate presentation event which many walkers were not able to attend. we are really excited about this year’s event. but as in previous years we will need the generous support of local companies well as the volunteers who marshal the event on the day. if anyone has any questions please contact us through this page and we will endeavour to answer them. ... see more bridgnorth walk is a sponsored walk run by bridgnorth lions on bank holiday monday 28th may 2018. includes a 22 miles adult walk & 7 mile junior walk. view on facebook 1 year ago betelguise web design : we can get your business noticed quality affordable web design by betelguise web design shropshire . proud to have supporte
